Yoga in Spanish
Please see a description of Vinyasa Flow for the Monday morning 9:15 class, and a description on Hatha Flow for the descriptoopn of the Monday afternoon at. 4:30. Just note, these classes, the verbal instruction is mainly given in Spanish.

Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a particular system of Yoga that aims to combine the polarities of the human nature (male/female, body/mind, emotions/intellect) through the practice of physical poses (Asanas), control over the breathing function (Pranayama), concentration and meditation. As a result of the discipline the student experiences an increased vital energy, a significant reduction of the constant mind chatter and related fatigue, an improved readiness to meet life challenges and a deeper identification with the inner self. Ultimately this translates into a more stable connection with the Life Source and the capacity of flowing along your own personal path with confidence, awareness and integrity.

Men’s Naked Yoga
There are very few venues where men can come together and connect spiritually, mentally and physically in the absence of sexual tension. Join our talented and professional teachers in this playful and fun yoga class for men who want to bond in a unique way. This is a great opportunity to experience nonsexual male intimacy. There are a number of reasons to practice naked. While our society often equates being naked with sex, other cultures have found that being naked removes many social and economic barriers. It is also very freeing to move the body without the restriction of clothing, and yoga provides a great way to deepen body acceptance. Also, being naked can bring up many of our vulnerabilities. By facing these fears in the context of a safe and supportive community of men, we naturally become more grounded and comfortable with ourselves. Men of all shapes, sizes, colors, ages and physical abilities are welcome to attend. Whether you are straight, gay or bi; new to yoga or a long time yogi—you are welcome. All you need is yourself, a bottle of water and a towel.

The focus of this class is: splits, backbends and forearm stands and handstands. With these any other pose becomes more easily available to the yoga student. This class is aimed specifically at increasing flexibility and strength. At the end of the class there will be time to work on whichever poses you are trying to acquire skill in as well as a shavasana to integrate the opening. Please come with an attitude to go to your limit and the desire to do deep and long stretching. There will be a lot of hands on assists and assisted stretching. Quantum Martial Arts/ Program (set fee)
The style taught is Quantum Martial Arts -- Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Boxing, and Wing Chun blended together to create a practical, street-wise approach to self-defense. The style is the creation of our Chief Instructor, Master Rachael Evans, who has been exploring and expanding her martial arts for 25 years. Our organization, Martial Arts in the Public Interest, is a non-profit school with a focus on healing, creating community, and supporting each individual's journey through the martial arts. Our mission is to help instill the concepts of self-discipline, respect, and self-control in the larger community. We strive to offer young people alternative definitions of power and control to impart a sense of pride and self-esteem.

Tai Chi
This one hour class will focus on two Tai Chi systems. The first is Tai Chi Chih, "Joy Through Movement", a form based on Tai Chi Chuan movements and Chi Kung practice principles. These gentle movements incorporate mindful breathing techniques with a full range of bodily motion compact enough to be practiced on the space of a yoga mat, and simple enough to memorize in a handful of sessions. Tai Chi Chih was designed to be be performed by people of all levels of physical fitness. It's gently repetitive practice makes it easy to learn and memorize. We will be using this system as our warm up to Tai Chi Chuan, but it is a complete system on it's own which you can expect to have memorized in a few months of sessions. The Cheng Man-Ch'ing form of T'ai Chi Chu'an will also be taught. This compact version of the traditional Yang family form concentrates on developing stability, agility and power. A perfect place to develop further the fundamentals learned in Tai Chi Chih. The Cheng Man-ching style uses less room than the Yang style, and a full set can be done in about 8 minutes. With dedicated practice it normally takes about 6 months to memorize and perform well.

Vinyasa
A dynamic system of practicing asana, linking breath to movement. Builds heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Sequencing is often built around sun salutations.

Most classes, aside from the (set fee) are available for a sliding scale donation of $10 -$20
